About
I live in (sunny-cloudy-rainy-snowy-sunny again) Madison Wisconsin, with my lovely wife and brilliant children (college fund contributions accepted).
I work as the budget director for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. My duties include development of the agency’s biennial budget, policy analysis, and staff development. Previously, I worked as a policy and budget analyst in the Wisconsin State Budget Office. My professional network home is on LinkedIn.
I have degrees in mathematics and law from the University of Wisconsin and in (environmental) economics from Michigan State University. I am interested in open societies, policy, economics, simplicity, evolution, photography, complex systems, writing, Wisconsin hockey, running, cycling, beer, Macintosh computers, and more.
